John-Marc Chandonia's endorsements for November 2008 elections |

I agree with most of the SF Green Party's endorsements, and I wrote most of the language for the local propositions and candidates. Here are the differences: In District 9, in addition to making Mark Sanchez my #1 vote, I'm voting Eric Quezada as my second choice, and Tom Valtin as my third choice. I'm not voting for David Campos, as his solution to rising Mission violence seems to be a combination of Ammiano's benign neglect of the lower reaches of his district and Newsom's strategy of shoveling money into an ineffective suburban police force. Plus, Campos' mailers seem to indicate that he thinks he's Mark Sanchez. I'm voting No on Prop D, since the plan would let the new development use the tax money they collect for local improvements rather than sharing funds with the rest of the City. My tax money from the Mission is spent throughout the City, on things from street sweeping in the Sunset to fixing potholes in Pacific Heights. Other neighborhoods should reciprocate. I'm voting Yes on Prop R, because the Bush Sewage Plant would be a great tourist attraction. We should also name our other sewage plant after Newsom, just to be fair to the Democratic Party.
